Well, as most of us, if not all of us who play Warcraft now know, there was a massive banwave this week of people who used bots. I personally am glad of this.
I've heard of a few instances where people have responded with things such as "I only botted my garrison upkeep daily" or "It was only a milling bot".
Well let me tell you botters something. Back in 2011/12 I played the Auction House pretty hardcore. I milled hundreds of herbs manually each week to make glyphs. I prospected in excess of 2k ore per week by hand. I turned those green quality gems into necklaces and rings which were then disenchanted by hand into enchanting materials.
These actions were easily done by use of legitimate in game addons which use only API-calls that Blizzard allow. Quality addon's such as Panda and TradeSkillMaster, or even a simple in game macro with all the herb Item ID's listed.
Even now, I still manually prospect herbs. I still manually disenchant items. I even do my own garrison runs daily. Once you get into a simple routine, it becomes second nature.
For example, my daily garrison routine would be:
Log in on Horde hunter. Complete missions, send out new ones. Run over to the Menagerie, check out what the pet dailies are. Compose the team, battle, complete quest and hand in. Each character's menagery has the same battle pets so this cuts down on time taken on the other alts. Go round to the herb garden, pick up the work orders, gather the herbs. Run from there, to the mine. Pick up work orders, run through the mine making use of the Miners Coffee and mining picks from carts. Run back out and head to middle of garrison stopping to pick up the work orders from my Bunker and Leatherworking hut.
Time taken? Less than 20 minutes for the first character. I then repeat this on the remaining level 100's and can complete their garrison chores in less than 10 minutes per toon.
There is absolutely NO need to bot anything within the game. If you really cannot be bothered to play a game you pay for each month properly, then please, cancel your subscription, and go and play something like Candy Crush.
In closing, be greatful it was only a 6 month ban. I know a lot of people, myself included, believe these should have been permanent.
I have also seen a link going around Twitter, where people banned actually submitted a petition to the United States Government via the "We the People" site to have their bans overturned. Get a grip. You were banned, rightfully, for breaking the terms and conditions you agreed to when you opened your account, and every single time you download a patch.

hu•man•i•ty (hyuˈmæn ɪ ti; often yu-)This week, Humanity disgusted me even more than normal. We see on the news every day various atrocities commited by humankind.
n., pl. -ties.1. all human beings collectively; the human race; humankind.2. the quality or condition of being human; human nature.3. the quality of being humane; kindness; benevolence; goodwill.
However on Wednesday, two gunmen went into the office of a small Satirical Newspaper in Paris, and killed several employees and policemen, before escaping, and causing a 2 day manhunt, which culminated today in the death of three people who had taken civillians hostage, as well as the lives of some of the hostages themselves.
Why did they choose to go into the office and do this? Because their "Religion" was insulted by satirical cartoons, or, at least, this is what THEY wanted us to think.
In truth, these men were cold, hard terrorists, using religion as an excuse to get themselves exposure for their cause.
Anyway, I digress.
Every day, someone, somewhere, makes a concious decision to take the life of another via violent means, committing an act of murder. Some people choose to WRONGLY use their religious beliefs when carrying out these acts, others, well, there has to be something wrong with them somewhere.
As a human being personally, I could not comprehend ever wanting to pick up a weapon, and violently snuff the life out of another.
Human life is precious, its a gift, and one that should not be wasted.
In the years I have been on this planet, I have seen so many horrific things on the news:
- IRA Bombings
- 9/11
- 7/7
- Dunblane Primary School Shooting's
- Columbine/Virginia Tech Shootings
I cannot understand why people do things like this. It's a waste of human life. If everyone went round and blew people up, or shot people dead because something or someone had pissed us off, there would be no one left on this earth.
Even worse, to do these things in the name of a whole religion, thats just wrong. Not only are you killing people because you are in fact, a TERRORIST, but you are doing so by bringing an entire religion into disrepute, and making it so that the decent law abiding followers of whatever religion you are besmirching, end up living in fear.
Not so long ago, there was an incident in Sydney, Australia, where an "Islamic" gunman took hostages in a Café. I use quotation marks because he was an individual who was really, just using his religious beliefs to get attention. As a result of this, the hashtag #I'llridewithyou began trending worldwide as kind hearted DECENT human beings in Sydney offered to ride with people of the Islamic faith so they felt safe on their commute.
I guess, not all humanity is bad. But there is an ever growing subsection of humanity who are anything but human.
Why can't we all live in peace and harmony together. Why do we have to have so many senseless killings, murders, and such waste of human life at the conscious hands of others.
As much as I hate to go to religion to answer a question, the Sixth commandment puts it very simply. "You shall not murder". The Ten Commandments as a whole, are basic tenets preached in various forms by all religions. If these people really are acting in the name of religion, then WHY are they not respecting the very simple "You shall not Murder".
I guess the answer to that, sadly, is one that no one will ever know.
I'm extremely sorry for this very wordy, rambling, disjointed wall of text. It's my way of trying to make sense of the events of this week.

Well, I've now got 2 new level 90 characters to add to my Horde fleet. Shamacazzy the Shaman, and Cazzles the DK have both dinged in the past week and a half. Both are also fully epic geared thanks to Timeless Isle.
The monk will of course be the next character to hit 90, and then, its just a case of levelling the Druid, Warrior and Rogue to 85, then following through to 90.
Now, to the rant. I went to the AH today, hoping to buy some ores for prospecting, to find, that they are at minimum 225g per stack of 20. Yes, thats TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE GOLD. What the hell is going on in the minds of these people. At that price, none of the ore related professions are worth taking part in.
Of course, it leaves me now in a vastly undesirable situation. I can either a) Walk out of the Gem market b) spend days on end mining and nothing else until I have an amount of ore I can work with or c) buy their overpriced ores and make a huge loss.
Neither A or C appeal to me. B is going to be the route I take I guess. I've noticed lately that people are yelling in trade to buy all Ghost Iron Ore and I am now wondering if this is why. I could of course join them but I dont want to spend my entire day AFK in a city when there is a whole game to be played.
This does have a knock on effect on my Enchanting market. A lot if not all of my dusts come from converting the green gems to jewellery and disenchanting it. I obviously need to rethink things at the moment.
