Well, Patch 5.4 went off without a problem for me. No add-on issues, and the Timeless Isle is awesome.
My Warlock has already filled in her missing patches of gear, now its just a work to upgrade the other low level epics with more bits and bobs from Timeless Isle.
My Shaman has a full set of gear, excepting a possibly a trinket or a weapon, for when she ding's 90. She achieved level 88 last night, so 2 more to go.
Sales were good on the first day. Gems flew off as expected, a modest 7k or so gold was made there. It could have been more if I had sat and reposted every few minutes but I was too busy out enjoying the content. Transmog sales were none, as to be expected, and Glyphs and other sales looked good too.
Sadly, I couldn't monitor overnight sales using Remote AH as it has been temporarily disabled due to a problem.
I have purchased some of the new Glyph techniques for the scribe, and some need to come from mob drops. I am working on these now, and she has just not long dinged 89. The shaman has her new cool down for the things required for the mount and pets, and the Hunter and Warlock both also have their new cooldowns. I will get Busycaz and the priest over to Timeless Isle soon and learn their new CD's also.

Well, for the US realms, patch 5.4 is already upon you. However, for us here in the EU, the patch doesnt land on us until tomorrow so I have been using this last day as preparations.
All the gold my posting characters have made over the past few weeks has been deposited into the guild bank, and they have been left with 500g each to list auctions when the Servers go live again tomorrow.
My crafting characters have been busy, crafting enchants, bolting cloth, cutting gems and making glyphs.
With the introduction tomorrow of Timeless Isle, which will drop gear upgrades for many alts, I will be posting a few of each, and hope to see sales. The new raid wing which releases tomorrow will also see sales as bosses are downed and gear is replaced.
In addition to crafting the blue quality gems, I have crafted some of the normal cuts and will AH the blue perfect cuts of those as a slightly cheaper alternative.
Total gold in guild bank at end of Patch 5.3: 113,330g 44s 60c.

Patch 5.4 is getting ever closer, and with it comes new recipes and so on to learn on my crafting characters. For one or two of these characters, it will probably mean I need to finish levelling them up to 90 to access the Timeless Isle.
To prepare for 5.4, I've been buying out all cheap ores, herbs and cloth on the AH. I've been prospecting the ore and using the green quality gems to make rings and necklaces for disenchant, and selling the blue procs. The herbs have been sent to my scribe ready to mill and the windwool cloth has been bolted and stored in the guild bank.
The characters I need to try and get to 90 are the Mage and Shaman, and possibly the alchemist.
I feel that although my stockpile is modest at the moment, with 10 days left until the patch, I have plenty of time to store up more if I need.
One of the drawbacks of the ore prospecting I have found, is that I am becoming over run with Serpent's Eye gem, but I am considering turning these into the ilvl 450 rings and either turning these into Ethereal Shards, or selling them on the AH for a bit of extra gold.
I have been stockpiling enchanting mats too in anticipation of the demand for them due to gear upgrades with the Siege Of Orgrimmar raid being introduced.
One of the enchanting changes coming are that high level enchants will now scale all through your levelling experience. What this means for the twink enchant market at the moment is uncertain, but as I only deal in the MoP enchants, this wont impact my sales too much

So, I open my wow client to find the optimiser. Cool beans, knew that would be coming, what could go wrong, its meant to take approximately 15 minutes. 25 minutes later, the optimiser is done. YAY. Next up, patching.
Patch download comes up, cant be nothing TOO big, its only a tiny tidly patch surely... Nope. Its a great big stinking 1.4gig patch.
Now, given that I have THAT sort of download speed, goodness only knows when it will be finished *sighs*.

Well, Patch 4.3 hit, and I got my Tyrael's Charger!
Having only JUST finished my preparations for shutdown early Wednesday morning, I logged in and did a quick dungeon on Cazmia, before meandering towards the DK to post some gem auctions.
Well, those gems FLEW off the shelf, a little undercutting shenanigans, including Pleb and his shenanigans, but they sold. As did almost all of the enchants, Ebonsteel belt buckles, Pyrium weapon chains (and there have been barely any of those up at all) and the assortment of buff foods I had prepared.
I made roughly 60k on the back of a 10k-ish investment.
I was about to log off earlier, when I did my quick customary scan of the AH (buying en-masse is a pain at the moment, my beloved AuctionLite is dead) and saw that some absolute idiot had placed on the ah... 97 stacks of Elementium Ore for the bargain price of 2g a stack! Yes. 97 stacks of Elementium Ore for 194g! Needless to say, that ore has now been prospected, transmuted, and cut, ready to go back onto the AH later in the form of gems.
Other noteable news of course, is that Siskonyrkki made the busy sellers list on Undermine Journal. I flung my usual post gems from one character, and everything else from the bank alt out of the window, in favour of the one stop shop approach.
In a few days time, I will probably mail all leftovers to the bank alt and sell from there properly.

Well, 4.3 hits EU today. I think im fairly close to prepared, but its kind of too bad if im not because the servers have gone down.
I managed to get all the gems prospected, all the rings made, disenchanted, and the scrolls started on.
I can finish the rest tomorrow when I log in I guess, after the invariable crap with addons etc.
