Well, yesterday, Cazmia, my monk, finally reached level 90. She just needs a few bits for her healing spec, and a dps spec trinket and she's good to go.

I'm back healing on her, however, its horrible when I go into an instance and get a PvP hero with absolutely no survivability skills, absolutely no tanking skills, and worst of all... everyone dies because I've used all my mana and chi trying to keep this person up.

I may start farming instances on my monk though. I'm getting dangerously low on things like Netherweave cloth and so on.

I just have left to level my three 80 Characters, and if I feel like it, I may go and level all my Alliance toons should I get bored.

Welcome back to the third, and possibly final part of my gold making tips series.

Never underestimate those green gems.

As a side effect of prospecting all the ore that you use for Jewelcrafting, you might find you end up with a surplus of the green quality gems. I may have touched on previously, about crafting these into the green quality Jewellery, then putting the blue proc's on the AH and disenchanting the greens, but don't discount their use and value crafted. When you craft the green quality gems, you have a chance to proc a "Perfect" cut of the same type you are crafting, which has exactly the same stats on it as the Blue quality cut gem of the same type. You could sell these perfect cuts for a little less than you would the actual Blue gem cuts.

If you end up with too many of these uncut green gems, and have crafted everything you need, consider cutting them into cuts, selling the normal green gems, and AH the blue perfect cuts as above. A stack of green quality gems uncut vendors for 12 gold, and a cut stack of green gems vendors for 17 gold.

Quests.

When you hit maximum level, quest rewards become capped. This makes the quests in both Cataclysm and Pandaria zones a good source of income. If you complete these on an Enchanter, they are also a good source of mats.

Seasonal World Events.

Seasonal world events are also another potential source of income. Many of these events have pets which you can purchase for the event currency, box up, and sell on the AH. Some events also have mounts, which you can also purchase, and sell on the AH, if they are Bind On Use as opposed to Bind on Pickup. Sell these mounts later in the year for a bit of extra gold.

Cat Pets.

With patch 5.4 came the achievement for having 20 different Cat Pets. This rewards a title. If you can purchase cross realm the Cat companion pets, you can crate these up and put them on the AH for people who are looking for cats to complete their collection.

Dont Be Afraid to Repost.

Certain markets on the AH benefit from regular reposting of small amounts. Two of these markets are Enchanting Scrolls and Cut Gems. Post in batches of 2-3 of each gem, or 1-2 of each enchant, and don't be afraid to keep checking and reposting where you have been undercut. However, if you use an add-on for this its worth checking that you haven't been undercut by a huge amount. If you have, check whether its worth buying out that low auction below you and reposting higher.
Well, I've now got 2 new level 90 characters to add to my Horde fleet. Shamacazzy the Shaman, and Cazzles the DK have both dinged in the past week and a half. Both are also fully epic geared thanks to Timeless Isle.

The monk will of course be the next character to hit 90, and then, its just a case of levelling the Druid, Warrior and Rogue to 85, then following through to 90.

Now, to the rant. I went to the AH today, hoping to buy some ores for prospecting, to find, that they are at minimum 225g per stack of 20. Yes, thats TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE GOLD. What the hell is going on in the minds of these people. At that price, none of the ore related professions are worth taking part in.

Of course, it leaves me now in a vastly undesirable situation. I can either a) Walk out of the Gem market b) spend days on end mining and nothing else until I have an amount of ore I can work with or c) buy their overpriced ores and make a huge loss.

Neither A or C appeal to me. B is going to be the route I take I guess. I've noticed lately that people are yelling in trade to buy all Ghost Iron Ore and I am now wondering if this is why. I could of course join them but I dont want to spend my entire day AFK in a city when there is a whole game to be played.

This does have a knock on effect on my Enchanting market. A lot if not all of my dusts come from converting the green gems to jewellery and disenchanting it. I obviously need to rethink things at the moment.

Day 5 of Twenty Days of Playing WoW sees me talking about favourite ingame items.

One of my favourite armour sets is the Blood Knight mail. This was, with a few changes, my Alliance Shaman's transmog set when it was introduced. Unfortunately Paladin's cant transmog mail, or this would be the set worn on my Paladins.

Another favourite armour set, this time Plate, is the Tier 6 Paladin Lightbringer set. Unfortunately this requires running Sunwell Plateau, Battle for Mount Hyjal and Black Temple for the tier tokens. Since my Paladin is a tank, this can be somewhat problematic.

My favourite weapons in game are the Spellfire Longsword and the Citadel Enforcer's Claymore. The Spellfire Longsword is an almost transparent lightsabre style weapon, and I think it looks really nice. The Citadel Enforcer's Claymore drops from Lord Marrowgar in ICC10 and is one of my absolute favourites to transmog. My Alliance DK has this, as does my Alliance Paladin. I really need to get these on my Horde characters.

I have three or four favourite mounts in WoW. First up, is Reins of the Raven Lord. This mount drops from Anzu in Heroic Sethekk Halls. With the introduction of the Black Market Auction House, this is now one of the mounts that has the chance to appear there. However, you are more likely to get it from Anzu. I've had it drop three times now, once on my Alliance Shaman and Druid, and again on my Horde Warlock.

Also ranking up there in favourite mounts, although I dont yet have these, are the Netherwing Drakes. These are mounts gained by getting Exalted reputation with the Netherwing in Shadowmoon Valley. These are definately on my To Do list of mounts to obtain.

Talbuk's are another favourite of mine. Obtained by getting Exalted reputation with either the Mag'har (Horde) or Kurenai (Alliance) in Outland, these look similar to a very tall, leggy goat. My favourite is the Cobalt Riding Talbuk, as it looks almost purple or lilac in some places.
Tuesday, 24 September 2013
Well, its Tuesday again, which can only mean that its the end of the week recap time.

Its been somewhat slow on the sales front this week, although that may in part be due to me spending most of my time on Timeless Isle trying to gear alts. More about that in another post though.

Guild bank totals for Week 2 of Patch.

  • Total in guild bank at start of Week 2: 151,069g 59s 19c
  • Total in guild bank before Week 2 gold deposit: 145,308g 32s 6c
  • Total in guild bank after Week 2 gold deposit: 173,376g 99s 4c

Below are the figures per character for the sales for week 2. As always, these are obtained using the TSM Mail excess gold feature, leaving 500g on each character for the posting of auctions.
  • Jewelcrafting sales: 14,295g 95s 82c
  • Glyph Sales: 1695g 82s 85c
  • Transmog and Enchant Sales: 4421g 92s 26c
  • Main Bank Alt Sales: 7654g 96s 5c
  • Total sales for the week: 28,068g 66s 98c

Whilst slightly less than what was made last week, its still gold. I expect sales to pick up as more wings of LFR open, and more characters get levelled and progress through Timeless Isle.
Tuesday, 17 September 2013
Well, the end of the first week of the patch is about to draw to a close. Sales for this week, while not exactly flying off the shelves, have held their own.

The total amount of gold in the guild bank this week (before adding the gold from auctions etc) has dropped slightly from last week's end of patch figure. This is because a small expenditure was required to get herbs and ores for the Scribe and Jewel-crafter to restock. I also withdrew some guild bank funds to purchase several of the new glyph recipes.

Guild bank totals for Week 1 of Patch

  • Total in guild bank at start of Week 1113,330g 44s 60c.
  • Total in guild bank before Week 1 gold deposit: 91,456g 58s 04c
  • Total in guild bank after Week 1 gold deposit: 151,069g 59s 19c
Below are the figures per character sales for the week. As always, I mailed the gold from each of my posting characters to the main bank alt, leaving the posting characters with a standard 500g "Float" for repairing and auction fees. These are the figure obtained using the TSM Mail Excess Gold feature.
  • Jewelcrafting sales: 26,259g 21s 59c
  • Glyph Sales: 10,995g 35s 48c
  • Transmog and Enchant Sales: 4968g 37s 67c
  • Main Bank Alt Sales: 17390g 6s 41c
  • Total sales for the week: 59613g 01s 15c
There was a minor change to how I post auctions this week also. Instead of posting the Enchant scrolls, Leg enchants, and shoulder enchants on my main bank alt, I now post these on the transmog sales alt. This enables me to cancel the auctions easily and speedily to repost should I desire, as her volume of auctions are decidedly less than the main bank alt.

The new Glyph techniques I have been posting at 175g. I consider this to be a fairly reasonable price, and I have already sold a good few of them.

My best WoW memory is when I was in Conspiracy Gaming, and we were going through ICC at the latter end of WoTLK. We were at the Lich King, and I was tanking on Elanian, and my friend Kioki was tanking on his druid.

We got through phase one, and went into the intermission phase where you all run out and have to avoid the frozen balls, and kill any adds that are up. That all went well. Second phase with the Val'kyrs and Defile. All of a sudden, from nowhere, I die. Kioki was on his own, solo tanking.

Unable to do anything else, I sit on Vent calling the defiles. I find myself thinking that we won't kill him, its not that possible with only one tank. Suddenly, the Lich King is almost at the end of the second phase. Its looking good. The second intermission phase passes, and we are now at the part where you get sucked into Frostmourne and have to heal Terenas, or kill adds. I realise that we are going to get the Lich King down. The Lich King does his "kill everyone" move, and everyone on Vent cheers. I get my free ressurection from Terenas, and we finish the last few percent of the Lich King. I don't think I've ever had another night that emotional on WoW since. Most of us have moved on to other realms, guilds or even games, but I will never forget the guild that got me my first LK kill, who accepted me as one of them, even though I was one of only 3 or 4 females in the guild, and who gave me a chance to raid lead a second team.

I remember my first day playing Warcraft very clearly. I downloaded the Trial client (this was back in the days when your trial accounts only lasted for 10 days), and got stuck on making an account.

I finally got that out of the way and logged in. I had never planned to get into WoW in the manner in which I have now, and didn't know what to expect.

My first hour, was spent on follow on a friend who had talked me into downloading the trial. I couldn't work out the controls. I soon picked them up however and got the hang of things. I don't recall what that first trial character was, but the second one I made, was a warrior. I got it to roughly level 13 or something before myself and my friend decided that we would continue on playing, and arranged to make recruit a friend accounts.

Up until my first day on WoW I had always said that the game didn't interest me, and that I would never play it. At that point, I was still playing the browser based MMO "RuneScape".

The first thing that struck me upon logging into WoW was the graphics. They were breathtaking compared to the graphics on games I had previously played, and, to my joy and amazement, Azeroth had day and night cycles, and even weather! Weather was not a feature I had encountered in RuneScape, and neither were the day and night cycles.

World Of Warcraft had exceeded my expectations of an MMO, and since then, I have never looked back, I've not even been tempted by other games in the MMO genre, and I believe I will still be playing WoW on the day they finally close the servers.
Well, Patch 5.4 went off without a problem for me. No add-on issues, and the Timeless Isle is awesome.

My Warlock has already filled in her missing patches of gear, now its just a work to upgrade the other low level epics with more bits and bobs from Timeless Isle.

My Shaman has a full set of gear, excepting a possibly a trinket or a weapon, for when she ding's 90. She achieved level 88 last night, so 2 more to go.

Sales were good on the first day. Gems flew off as expected, a modest 7k or so gold was made there. It could have been more if I had sat and reposted every few minutes but I was too busy out enjoying the content. Transmog sales were none, as to be expected, and Glyphs and other sales looked good too.

Sadly, I couldn't monitor overnight sales using Remote AH as it has been temporarily disabled due to a problem.

I have purchased some of the new Glyph techniques for the scribe, and some need to come from mob drops. I am working on these now, and she has just not long dinged 89. The shaman has her new cool down for the things required for the mount and pets, and the Hunter and Warlock both also have their new cooldowns. I will get Busycaz and the priest over to Timeless Isle soon and learn their new CD's also.

Before I started, I emptied my bags of everything to leave plenty of room for items, and as always, made sure that I had relogged to ensure the gold count was accurate.

These are the drops I got.

As the gems from TBC era are mostly useless now, I vended these for the 5g per gem they yeilded, and did the same with the Heart of Darkness.
Tuesday, 10 September 2013
Well, for the US realms, patch 5.4 is already upon you. However, for us here in the EU, the patch doesnt land on us until tomorrow so I have been using this last day as preparations.

All the gold my posting characters have made over the past few weeks has been deposited into the guild bank, and they have been left with 500g each to list auctions when the Servers go live again tomorrow.

My crafting characters have been busy, crafting enchants, bolting cloth, cutting gems and making glyphs.

With the introduction tomorrow of Timeless Isle, which will drop gear upgrades for many alts, I will be posting a few of each, and hope to see sales. The new raid wing which releases tomorrow will also see sales as bosses are downed and gear is replaced.

In addition to crafting the blue quality gems, I have crafted some of the normal cuts and will AH the blue perfect cuts of those as a slightly cheaper alternative.

Total gold in guild bank at end of Patch 5.3: 113,330g 44s 60c.
I decided to start my blog as at the time, I was doing a lot of gold making, and I thought it would be great to share my tips and tricks with friends, and have a log of how things proceeded.

Somehow though, my blog has evolved from being a primarily WoW gold related blog, to one that contains some real life rants and moans. The content probably isn't that interesting, but if I inspire just one person, or help just one person get started in gold making, then I shall be happy.

I tried blogging in the past, and it didnt work out so well for me. It felt strange writing about me on the internet. This time however, since I chose a subject that was gameplay related rather than personal, it seems to be going much better.

Stratholme is a set of two instances located in Eastern Plaguelands on the continent of Eastern Kingdoms. The instance is divided into Main Gate and Eastwall Gate/Service Entrance.

If you are lucky, you can encounter the rare mob "Duke Ragereaver" patrolling the Main Gate area and kill him for some additional coins and a green item.

Mobs:

  • Undead
  • Humanoid
Drops:

  • Greens
  • BoE Blues
  • Recipes
  • Mageweave Cloth
  • Mana and health potions
  • Gems
  • Coins
  • Righteous Orbs
  • Greys and White Vendor Items
Friday, 6 September 2013
Today's Farming Favourite is the Green belt in the Wetlands region of Eastern Kingdoms. The Green Belt is located near to the road up towards Grim Batol and is easily identifiable by the Orc's and Dragon type mobs battling together.

The black box is the approximate area we will be farming in.
Mobs:
  • Dragonmaw Whelpstealers
  • Ebon Slavehunters
Drops:
  • Greens
  • Linen Cloth
  • Wool Cloth
  • Silk Cloth
  • Recipes
  • World Drop Blue BoE
  • Vendor greys and whites
  • Gold
Pros:
  • Fast respawns
  • Easy to AoE down at higher levels
  • Gold can be doubled if you farm here using a skinner
Cons:
  • Many Alliance bases in the region so a slight Horde disadvantage.
  • Bags fill fast so regular vendoring or banking may be needed
As always, for Farming Favourites, I spent a specified period of time farming and at the end of that period, took a final count. I made sure that I monitored the gold earned carefully even though I had to use my vendor mount to empty my bags of the trash grey and white drops but this is reflected in the final figure.

I used a character with skinning and leatherworking to farm at the Green Belt.

Farming Time: 1 Hour

Gold:
  • Looted: 7g 21s 42c
  • Vendor gold: 5g 9s 72c
  • Total gold: 12g 31s 14c
Drops:
  • 1 BoE Blue - Feet of the Lynx (Good Twink Item)
  • 1 Transmog Green
  • 16 Vendor/DE Greens
  • 1 Shadowgem
  • 2 Moss Agate
  • 424 Linen Cloth
  • 53 Silk Cloth
  • 328 Wool Cloth
  • 1 Recipe: Elixir of Ogres Strength
Profession Related Loot:
  • 18 Light Hide
  • 15 Medium Hide
  • 1 Rugged Leather
  • 2 Thick Leather
  • 236 Light Leather
  • 214 Medium Leather
The green items disenchanted to:
  • 41 Strange Dust
  • 4 Greater Astral Essence
  • 1 Small Glimmering Shard
  • 4 Soul Dust
  • 3 Lesser Astral Essence.
Whilst the gold certainly isn't plentiful in hard coin drops at this location, the items you loot from the mobs certainly make up for this. Feet of the Lynx can sell for anywhere between 500g to 1500g depending on realm and demand. The cloth (and leathers if you farm on a skinner) can bring in a pretty penny too, with some realms seeing wool cloth sell for 30g-50g per stack.

I am Cazmia, also known as Caz or Cazzy. I live in South East Scotland and I have been playing World of Warcraft since November 2009.

When I'm not playing World Of Warcraft, I can often be found playing MineCraft, Call of Duty or other assorted video games.

Apart from video gaming, I enjoy reading books, watching films and chatting to friends.

Things I enjoy doing on WoW range from farming old instances, the occasional run through LFR as my health permits, and playing the auction house.

In real life, I suffer from Pernicious Anaemia and other things, so WoW is my distraction where I can be free to do what I want without any of the restrictions that my stupid body can often give me.

Well, thats all I can think to write about me, so Enjoy.
Tuesday, 3 September 2013
Hi, and welcome back to my gold making tips series. This is part 2.

Herbalists and Miners.

If you recall in my last post, I mentioned buying out vendor recipes and reselling them on the Auction House for a higher amount of gold. A far more effective way of doing this, is to use an alt with Herbalism or Mining, and whilst on your travels from vendor to vendor, pick or mine any low level resources you come across. Low level herbs and ores, especially ones from previous expansions such as The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King will sell for good amounts of gold to people who either cannot be bothered to farm their materials for a re-rolling character or profession change, or simply don't have the time to sit at their pc to source these.

Buying cheap to craft or Vend.

I may have already touched upon this when covering cloth in part one, but do keep a regular check on your local AH for cheap cloth, gems and ores which could be crafted and then either disenchanted, or sold as is for a higher price. If you are using an AH addon (and any serious gold maker will) then some of these addons have a setting built in to scan for items below vendor price, which you can buy out and sell to a nearby vendor. Often "Newbies" to the AH will make the mistake of listing greens and blues, and sometimes even Gems for below vendor value just to get rid of the item when it doesn't sell.

Monday, 2 September 2013
If like me, you get enjoyment out of farming your supplies rather than just buying everything off the AH, then this is the series for you.

Farming Favourites will cover a variety of locations, instances and raids over a variety of expansions, from Vanilla to Mists of Pandaria.

Each location will come with a breakdown of general Mob types, possible drops, pro's and con's and of course, the results of one instance clear, or an hour of farming, if it is an open world location.

Farm location results will feature the following:

  • Gold: Looted gold and gold from vendored greys and white trash items.
  • Drops: Amount of green items, transmog items, BoE Blue items, BoP blue items, cloth, leathers, gems etc.
  • Disenchant results: what the green and BoP Blue items disenchanted into.
  • Skinning results: leather skinned from mobs (Not looted)
  • Whether I used a character with a profession or not.
It's important to bear in mind that whilst the gold value alone may not look profitable, some of the drops themselves will be highly valued, especially old enchanting materials and leathers, which can sell for a very pretty penny.

My instance guides will assume that you are a fairly experienced player, and already know how to access the entrance portal to these. However, I will include a basic location of Region and Continent. In the case of open world locations, I will try to include a map showing the location of the area.

I hope you will find my Farming Favourites series helpful, and if you have any suggestions for areas that I could check out, then drop a comment and I will check it out.

Patch 5.4 is getting ever closer, and with it comes new recipes and so on to learn on my crafting characters. For one or two of these characters, it will probably mean I need to finish levelling them up to 90 to access the Timeless Isle.

To prepare for 5.4, I've been buying out all cheap ores, herbs and cloth on the AH. I've been prospecting the ore and using the green quality gems to make rings and necklaces for disenchant, and selling the blue procs. The herbs have been sent to my scribe ready to mill and the windwool cloth has been bolted and stored in the guild bank.

The characters I need to try and get to 90 are the Mage and Shaman, and possibly the alchemist.

I feel that although my stockpile is modest at the moment, with 10 days left until the patch, I have plenty of time to store up more if I need.

One of the drawbacks of the ore prospecting I have found, is that I am becoming over run with Serpent's Eye gem, but I am considering turning these into the ilvl 450 rings and either turning these into Ethereal Shards, or selling them on the AH for a bit of extra gold.

I have been stockpiling enchanting mats too in anticipation of the demand for them due to gear upgrades with the Siege Of Orgrimmar raid being introduced.

One of the enchanting changes coming are that high level enchants will now scale all through your levelling experience. What this means for the twink enchant market at the moment is uncertain, but as I only deal in the MoP enchants, this wont impact my sales too much

About Me

I am Cazzy, also known within the World of Warcraft as Cazzéh and Cazmia, amongst other aliases.

I have been goldmaking and blogging on and off since 2011, starting off small by selling things such as cloth, then moving on to other areas such as gems, enchants and so on.

Currently, I am residing on the EU Sunstrider and EU Trollbane connected realmsets and am maining a MM Hunter.

I am raiding again, my current progression on my main, Cazzéh is:

4/13 Mythic HFC, 13/13 Heroic HFC, 11/13 Normal HFC, 13/13 LFR HFC.
