Today's dungeon delve saw me run all the Classic Eastern Kingdoms dungeons for level 1-60. Again, I used my Horde hunter who has skinning and leatherworking as professions.

To get into Gnomeregan as a Horde without dying to the max level guards, there is a teleporter in Grom'Gol Basecamp in Stranglethorn Vale.

If you are Horde and wish to run Stockades, I would recommend the removal of armor and flying over round the back from Westfall, then dropping in just outside the Stockades entrance and running directly into the instance. Should you die, you wont have armor on to get the repair bill.

Each dungeon was as always, fully cleared of mobs, and skinned wherever possible. The dungeons rewarded a varied amount of gold for completion. Grey and White quality items such as potions were vendored.

Here is a breakdown of the loot recieved:

As you are all probably aware by now, it's possible to solo raids such as Firelands, ICC 25HC, Throne of the Four Winds and so on.

Lately, this has been one of my gold making endeavours, running raids for mounts, vending the grey/white trash, armor I cannot use, and then sending any crafting mats, cloth and disenchantables to my guild bank.

So far, my hunt for mounts has returned to me, the Flametalon of Alysrazor, which I soloed on my level 92 Warlock, it dropped on her first kill ever, and last night, this happened.

    Obligatory Phone Screencap.
There will be more about the raids and their loot in a future post to come.

Well, Patch 5.4 went off without a problem for me. No add-on issues, and the Timeless Isle is awesome.

My Warlock has already filled in her missing patches of gear, now its just a work to upgrade the other low level epics with more bits and bobs from Timeless Isle.

My Shaman has a full set of gear, excepting a possibly a trinket or a weapon, for when she ding's 90. She achieved level 88 last night, so 2 more to go.

Sales were good on the first day. Gems flew off as expected, a modest 7k or so gold was made there. It could have been more if I had sat and reposted every few minutes but I was too busy out enjoying the content. Transmog sales were none, as to be expected, and Glyphs and other sales looked good too.

Sadly, I couldn't monitor overnight sales using Remote AH as it has been temporarily disabled due to a problem.

I have purchased some of the new Glyph techniques for the scribe, and some need to come from mob drops. I am working on these now, and she has just not long dinged 89. The shaman has her new cool down for the things required for the mount and pets, and the Hunter and Warlock both also have their new cooldowns. I will get Busycaz and the priest over to Timeless Isle soon and learn their new CD's also.

I've been asked by friends on WoW several times how I make gold. The truth is, there is no easy way to make fast gold, unless you play the AH, and even then, you need to know exactly what you are doing before getting started.

I personally however make gold in many ways. Without further ado, I shall get into my methods.

    1: Farming Instances.

I am one of those strange people who rather than spend all my time sitting at the AH buying low and selling high, would prefer to be out and about in Azeroth doing things. One of the many things I enjoy doing is farming old instances. These are often very rewarding with decent loot ranging from vendable trash, disenchantable greens, and the occasional world epic BoE drop. Blue BoE drops can also happen, and these are good for selling on the AH.

My general approach to dealing with loots from instance farming is this:

    • Disenchant green items and BoP blue quality items into enchanting materials. Blue quality and above BoE items are kept and mailed to the AH character. The only exception to the disenchanting rule are all BoP epics from instances in Vanilla and The Burning Crusade areas. The crystals these epics turn into arent worth any gold, so its much more profitable to vendor these items with the greys and whites that are also trash. Wrath, Cataclysm and Mists Of Pandaria BoP epics can however be sharded and either shattered or sold as is on the AH.
    • Leave no corpse unlooted. Those grey and white items that everyone else thinks are junk, are our treasure. In higher level dungeons these items often add up to 10's of gold when vendored.
    • Check your greens before you disenchant them. Some greens that drop can be highly sought after for Transmogrification. Examples of this would be the Aurora or Silver thread armor.
    • Post the cloth on the AH. Stacks of cloth are a good seller. Used in many professions, most people usually just buy their cloth requirements from the AH rather than go out and farm it themselves.
    • Post the gems on the AH. The low level instances in Vanilla areas often drop random gems, which can be posted on the AH for between 1-10g each, sometimes even higher.
    • If you get recipe drops, post them on the AH unless you are a completionist and need them for an alt. Some recipes that drop can be extremely rare and sometimes can sell for well over 5k gold. I'd highly recommend checking The Undermine Journal for your realm in this situation.
I will have guides coming soon for some of the instances that I find most profitable in terms of items to post on the Auction House, vending and so on.

    2: Crafting Items.

Crafting items can also be extremely profitable especially when its items from the current expansion. The MoP crafted green items have a chance to proc a blue quality item with a higher item level and better stats, and these are the ones we are interested in posting on the Auction House. As always, any green items would normally be disenchanted into the enchanting materials for the

With patch 5.4 coming on September 11th in the EU (Sept 10th for the US) I have started preparing my modest stockpile for the coming patch.

Using the new TSM is going well, and after the few initial teething problems I had, its going a lot better now. Thanks to Dwarfwench for helping me out when I was seriously losing it.

At the moment, I am checking the AH 1-2 times per day for cheap herbs, ores, windwool cloth and various other materials that I use in my crafting regime.

Currently I am involved in the following markets:

    • Enchant Scrolls and Shoulder Enchants
    • Cut Gems
    • Old Enchanting materials
    • Recipes
    • Potions
    • Crafted Blue Jewelry/Armor
    • Cloth - Linen through to Netherweave
    • Bags
The Windwool cloth I purchase gets turned into the Windwool armor, and then the greens are disenchanted, whilst the blue procs are mailed to my auction characters and posted up for a modest price of betwen 100-200g each.

All the ore I purchase is prospected, and the blue quality gems cut and posted on the AH. The green quality gems are turned into the jewelry and again, greens mailed to my disenchanters, whilst blue procs are again auctioned off. Sparkling shards are turned into Serpent's Eye Gems, and posted on the AH as they are (as the crafted Serpents Eye's are Bind on Pickup)

The materials from any disenchants are used to make scrolls for the Pandaria enchants and sold on the AH.

The cheap herbs I buy out, are split between my alchemist and my scribe, and either milled or turned into potions, again posted on the AH. The Starlight Ink is used to craft the epic shoulder enchants which are posted on the AH.

I will do further posts regarding the other aspects of how I make my gold both on and off the AH, but I just wanted to cover how I handle the current expansion Materials.

So, I've been very bad lately at updating my blog. However, I am going to rectify that issue here and now.

Its reset day, and whilst prices aren't as high as they used to be, they are still acceptable. I just wish I could blow all these people who drop prices by 50-150g in one undercut off the planet. Add to that, the people who post massive walls of goods on the AH at this stupid price, Stop it. I will NOT buy you out. I will just merely undercut you by 1c or 50s, and then laugh as you lose a lot in ah fees if your items dont sell.

The best bit of advice ever given to me, by Burpy, was dont post lots of the same item as you just get undercut before it sells. He was right, thanks for that Burpy.

I finally hit 700k yesterday. Next milestone amount for me to aim for is 800k. My new years resolution was to make gold cap on at least 5 characters, I'm now starting to wonder if that was a bit stupid, and therefore might scale it back to 3 characters.

I'm now levelling my mage again, shes going to be a potions speciality alchemist I think, Shes sitting on 375 alch and herb atm, and level 63 I think.
    Tuesday, 13 December 2011
Well, after a slow couple of days, I am now at the day before reset. As you may remember in my last post Busy Week, I was up to 180k on the JC posting character. Well, now I am at 300k.

Im concentrating on posting the enchants and Gems on the JC, whilst using the bank alt for everything else. I've moved glyph posting over to the bank alt too, although, I am questioning the wisdom of this after having to make several trips back and forth to the AH. I will probably reduce my glyph market considerably once I've got all the ones I can make added to TSM but for now, I've been crafting 3 of everything.

I've also got a rather messy guild bank again. I keep meaning to find the enthusiasm to tidy it up, but it seems to be sadly lacking.

Well, its been a very busy week in the life of Cazmia on wow. I've been prospecting ores like mad, disenchanting like mad, and well, getting mad at the competition.

Surprisingly, I reached a new high in mail openings tonight.

    Highest Opening Yet!
When I logged off, my Jewelcrafter character who has been handling most of the auctions, was sitting at around 180k liquid gold, with a lot more tied up in gems etc.

I do apologise to my readers for not posting more often, but I've been caught up in the auction house for the past week.

A huge thanks to my guild mates in Inner Circle by the way, especially Wenchie, Willy and Burpy. If it hadn't been for you guys getting my interest with the gold thing, I wouldn't have as much as I do today.
    Monday, 21 November 2011
So, for the past couple of weeks, I've noticed this person posting gems on the AH. Nothing strange there you might say.  However, read on, to find out why I suspect him.

This character, is a level 1, we shall name him... Pleb. Pleb seemingly has no brains. Hes practically camping the AH for 2-3 hours at a time, just to maintain his auctions as No.1. You undercut him, he reposts immediately. You match his auctions... he undercuts you and his previous postings. This hasnt gone un-noticed by the JC guildies who also post.

What the heck do we do with this idiot? Hes pretty much single handedly contributing to the tanking of the gem market.

And, dont get me started on the complete lemming who, the other day when I had red gems posted up at 200g, (and selling them like hotcakes I might add) decided for some reason unknown to anyone but themselves, to undercut by 100g. Just why the heck would you do that? I can understand the undercutting, but why oh why would you wish to reset the red 40 stat gems (it was either agi, str or int I dont remember now) to 100g instead of taking advantage of the Wednesday raid reset to maximise profits. Needless to say, I bought him out, and took advantage of his gems and profitted on every single one.
    Saturday, 12 November 2011
Well, This was meant to be originally titled "Where has all the Rum Ore gone?"  but it wont let me strike through a title. However, this is a very good question.

Today, I managed to snatch up some Elementium Ore. More than I wanted to really pay for it, but still. Spent 5k on it, prospected it, turned the Carnelians, Hessonite and Nightstones into blue quality gems, the rest, was shuffled and disenchanted. Zephyrites are going on the AH, in stacks of three. Lets see if those sell. Sure as hell beats cutting and vending them anyway.

Anyway, back to the title of this post. Where HAS all the ore gone? There is a distinct lack of ores on the AH at the moment. Obsidium is selling for majorly stupid prices. By that, I mean over 50g a stack. Really, what the hell? Usually, you can count on your friendly bot prolific farmer, to be flooding the AH daily with cheap ores. But nothing, nada.

Still trying to get my head round the setup of TradeSkillMaster. I'm slowly getting there however.
    Friday, 11 November 2011
Well, I didnt feel like doing anything much today, so after last night's mammoth crafting session of gems etc, today, I went about a little AH-PVP. I camped out at the AH most of the afternoon and evening, posting, and reposting all those blue quality gems I had cut. As soon as there was a significant amount of people undercutting me, I cancelled and reposted.

Well. It worked. I held most of the gem market (I say held, but really, in effect, just offloaded a ton of cut gems lol) until I logged off a little earlier, and had also made myself a cool 9k on the DK who is my JC toon.

This has left me however with a little dilemma. Do I continue to shuffle gems the way I have been? Turn all into necklaces and rings, mail to Priest, disenchant, mail mats to bank alt/stockpile and then cut the blues into gems and vend, banking the rares... or, do I keep cutting the blues (they dont turn into jewelry) and then transmute the rest of the gems into the rares, to repeat this method at a future date?

If I go down the transmute route, this then leads to yet another dilemma. I dont have a transmute specced alchemist, and I'm not really sure I wish to give up my elixir spec on the Paladin. I guess I could drop mining on the DK (She has mining and JC) and take Transmute spec on her, it would cut out the mailing back and forth, but I would need to either buy the herbs, or farm them up on the Hunter or Paladin. One other option would be, to level this Mage I have at level 11, and train herbalism and alchemy on her, and take transmute spec. Im guessing that is probably the most viable option of the three. I am loathe to drop the DK's mining.

I guess I have a while to contemplate this, as currently, there is NO cheap ore on the AH. I suspect I will be waiting until the weekend when the slightly less scrupulous people flood the market... I hope. The new patch date has been pretty much estimated for beginning of December, and therefore, people may well be stockpiling now.

I sure as hell hope not.
